I grew up in Scranton, Pennsylvania (like The Office, yes), and attended school at Temple University in Philadelphia (like It's Always Sunny, yes). While in high school, I started my first business and became my first boss. As a youngster, I designed my own logo, GoDaddy website, and social media channels for Face the Art Face Painting. I should add that I am an artist at heart. But with copywriting, my words are my paintbrush, and the client's goals are my canvas.
Through my first business, I learned the ins and outs of advertising and marketing. I ran social media promotions in Meta Suite, hung up flyers, ordered business cards, and did volunteer work to get myself noticed. It paid off. Over the course of 10 years, I volunteered for over 15 nonprofit organizations. I got noticed by several news stations and local newspapers. I dealt with happy customers (and sometimes unhappy) which is where I got my amazing, charismatic, and superb customer service skills from.
Covid-19 had shut down everything in the spring of my freshman year. I was a film major. I switched to advertising on a whim after taking an intro course with Professor Andy Merz (shoutout!) and it changed my life. During a remote semester in 2021, I took on my very first freelance client as a UX/UI Copywriter. My client started with one Error 404 page, and I worked tirelessly to build him an accessible website from the ground up. I learned about keywords and SEO, did a whole lot of copy, and l now know more about epoxy coatings than I probably should. You can see more at americanpaintersllc.net/.
While the pandemic continued, I was still pretty bored. I had started painting glass ornaments for fun on the side, and selling them to Temple students. Once I realized I had a real knack for it, I decided to take it to Etsy. Huge game changer. I started branching out from just Temple merch to other schools, then to other categories: pets, houses, quotes, references - you name it, I probably painted it on an ornament. I was tending local commissions of whatever people wanted and selling out on Etsy overnight. That's how my second business was born: Caroline Khoury Artworks.
Now I'm a graduate with a ton of experience in a ton of fields. Well, now you're caught up. I hope this interested you. As I'm writing this, I'm realizing I'm sort of a catch. If you like to play ball, and also annoying puns, maybe head over to my contact page.

Here's a picture of my family of four. There's my mom, Jennifer (60 - but looks 30), my dad, Glenn, (61 - but looks... 31), and my little brother Christopher (19) who attends Bucknell University as an civil engineering student. My father attended Glassborough (now Rowan) University. He majored in Advertising. He started his own business Encore Outdoor LLC. He used to be a film major, just like me.
