In 2014, I started my first business: Face the Art Face Painting of the Greater Scranton Area. I started off doing the annual "Wally Lake Fest" of Lake Wallenpaupack (where I grew up during the summers at my grandparents log cabin) with my dad and my little brother, Chris, who sold hot dogs and Gatorades while I painted. When I started face painting, I was 12 years old. I started at Wally Lake Fest, then more nonprofit events, then kids parties. Now, I'm 21 (almost 22 in June - Geminis unite! We get a bad wrap) and still volunteering and doing parties for the Scranton area, soon-to-be Philadelphia area. It is something that warms my heart and brings me joy to do till this day. I designed my own logo, website, social media, and brand. I've been featured in news articles and just recently did a spot for local news station WNEP 16 for the Lackawanna Giveback Music on the Mountain Fest.

I started Caroline Khoury Artworks (formerly known as Cpartkdesign) on Etsy during the Covid-19 pandemic. It started out as buying "glass paint" from Amazon (acrylics work just fine) and painting some Temple Owls on glass discs for Christmas. Before I knew it, this business was spiraling out of control. I was running to the post office several times a day when winter rolled around. Not to mention I was trying to plan out enough time in the day to not only complete online Etsy orders, but to try and work on local commissions from Scrantonians while also working many holiday markets. I came up with my logo (it's a fish skeleton - not entirely sure why I picked that, but I saw a woman in Micheals craft store with a tattoo of it, and it resonated with me), an Instagram and Facebook, and designed my entire Etsy store. I ordered stickers off of Vistaprint and probably thousands of dollars worth of little boxes to ship the ornaments in, including some shredded paper to pack it.
I specialize in not just my own creations (the Aurora Borealis ornaments are a bestseller) but commissioned ornaments as well. I can't count on my fingers how many dogs and cats I've done, not to mention the endless colleges I never even heard of before. I'm currently branching out my Etsy page to include a collection of festive cards.
