ROOMBA

HOW IT STARTED

I took this assignment on during my Copywriting for Print and Web course in Spring 2022. The goal: make a memorable OOH ad for Roomba. I decided to make it a play-on-visual. You make a mess, you might use some choice words - why not catch their attention in billboard ads? Follow along to see the step-by-step.

the ROUGH roughs.

Does that even look like a Roomba? I wouldn't know. Ours stayed in the box. These were my alternative ideas for OOH.

getting closer.

I liked these ads. My professor REALLY liked them. I think he was trying to think of a reason to use swear words during class. Either way, these shock-value ads would look better with a pop of color. So I added this rough to Canva. This is where I added the tagline "Take Care of All The Dirty."

the final touches.

Later on, this year (2023). I decided to take all the Roomba ads to another level in Canva (again). You'd think I'd know more swear words. Think again. And also add to your checklist "does not have a potty mouth - hire her!!!"

the results.
